My painting has been based on an original drawing that has been attributed to Hieronymus Bosch as the original artist. However although no original with a similar design by Bosch has survived, it was reasonable to assume that either a painting or drawing by him served as a prototype for the eventual engraving.
The elephant facing left is surrounded by armed figures and demonic creatures attempting to battle the occupants of the castle on its back. I have not painted an exact version of the drawing as the number of figures within the picture is endless.
I have created my own colourful version.
